Female Fortune: Land, Gender and Authority by Jill Liddington

Female Fortune: Anne Lister

I ordered four books and so far I only received one book. I was trilled to receive the book, but I’m quite angry at the custom because they opened the parcel. Each time I received anything that being tempered I feel like someone breaches my privacy. Especially when it was so obvious that I did order a book from bookdepository to be used for my university education purpose. I’m not that dumb to order pornography materials or anything illegal. I hope they won’t open my others parcel because sometimes they didn’t properly seal the parcel. I used to receive a parcel that tore badly and luckily the book still managed to arrive safely even though the book cover creases so badly. Nevertheless, thank God, because I still get the book and not forever lost.

Dear customs, please handle with care with any books or other things that people hoping to receive. I understand it is your jobs but please respect other people belonging.

I’m not fortunate enough to reside in a city with many good bookstores like I used to. The nearest city that offers many good bookstores is located in Penang. Once in a blue moon I go to Penang and definitely bought one or two books. But now thanks to technology I can order books through online but I have to wait 3 to 4 weeks for the books to arrive.

I ordered four books and the one that I received today is Female Fortune by Jill Liddington. I think I’m sort of addicted to read more about Anne Lister after watching and reading The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister. I’m interested to find out more about her. I’m thinking I might do a research paper on empowering women. Eventually I’m not a social science background but I might give a try.

The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister

It is being awhile since updated my blog because I am focusing on my classes. Since the semester almost ended so I think I can be able to read as many books as I wish.

Currently I am reading The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister and Trial by Fire. I was trying to finish those books ASAP but by night either I am tired or have to read other materials for my classes.

Last night I’m able to finished reading The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister. The reason I purchased the book because I loved the movie and I find that Miss Anne Lister was a genius and imagining what if she was a 21st century lesbian and what can she contribute to LGBT societies.

Overall I find the book interesting because I don’t really into a diary or autobiography kind of books. I am so grateful that Helena Whitbread spending years of her life to edit Miss Anne Lister Diaries. From what I read from various Internet sources, she is working on a new book on Miss Anne Lister biography.
