Unboxing Mafex Suicide Squad: Harley Quinn

 

April is the month to pampered and Splurged. I bought this Mafex Suicide Squad Harley Quinn as a birthday present for myself. I already bought the Bandai S.H Figuarts Suicide Squad Harley Quinn, but I cannot resist the temptation to buy another version of Harley Quinn as I saw it already available at Play-Asia website and only two left in stock. The price almost the same with Amazon the shipping much cheaper because of the item ship from Hong Kong.

I made a comparison between Bandai and Mafex Harley Quinn; I noticed that Mafex is more detailed compared to Bandai because Harley Quinn from Bandai missing tattoo on her stomach and those tattoos around her legs also not clear compared to Mafex brand.

Beauty and The Beast (2017)

 

Last night, my brother and I watched the life-action film of Beauty and the Beast. Luckily the film can enter Malaysia without any cut. I won’t go and see the film in the cinema if there is any cut because of the LGBT contents.

While watching the film, my mind tried to remember the classic animated scenes and notice some changes in the life-action. Overall the film is entertaining, but I noticed that the visual effects, in particular for the background, look a bit off for a big budget film like this. Emma Watson singing voice not too bad, though I still think that she is not the suitable actress to play the character.

Ghost in the Shell (2017)

 

I’m back to work from short breaks. Yesterday, I spent my time off watching Ghost in the Shell and bought the whole series of Miss Peregrine books by Ransom Riggs. I enjoyed watching Ghost in the Shell even though the controversial of “whitewashing” of the main character played by Scarlett Johansson. The storyline of the movie is fast-paced, and the effects are good especially the Geisha robot. The Geisha robot beautifully designs and love the scene where it kills the Hanka scientist in the restaurant.

Power Rangers (2017)

 

Last night, I watched the Power Ranger with my brother. Personally, I like the original TV series more compared to the movie, even though the technology not as good as now. The storyline quite slow because they need to introduce all the characters and I hope the next movie will be much better. Overall, the movie is fun to watch.

I’m so happy the original TV series Kimberly (Amy Jo Johnson), and Tommy (Jason David Frank) made a cameo in the film. I remember watching those series with my brother when we were kids.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

Today I decided to take a break for a couple of days in April. I’m so burned out with the workload. I wish I can spend my time travelling and read books.

On my free time, I read novels and currently, I’m reading a book called Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I love the book and decide to collect all the series.

I watched the movie version last year and before that I have no idea the existence of the book. The reason I watch the movie is because I love Tim Burton films. His thoughts and works are so unique and brilliant. Its suit me well because I think people would agree to say that I’m also a peculiar person. I remember when I was an undergrad student, one of my friend felt weird when I bought Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride: An Invitation to the Wedding movie book. I don’t care what people think of me being weird liking Tim Burton works.
I hope there will be more movies to come based on the book series and Tim Burton films.

Beauty and The Beast

 

This year so many interesting movies and Beauty and the Beast is one of them. I love Beauty and the Beast, but I’m not sure whether to watch the life-action movie starring Emma Watson.

Personally, I don’t see her as Belle because she did not has the beauty or grace like the character. I’m not saying she is not pretty, but something is missing that I cannot point out. I like the original voice actors compare to 2017 life-action.

Update:

I might not see the movie at all in Malaysia because of the Gay scene.

Harley Quinn and the Joker

I’m over the moon. Finally, I receive Harley Quinn and the Joker statue. I waited patiently for two weeks. I’m very pleased with the sculpture quality, and the most important that the statue is in good condition and not broken because of the transit from the US to Malaysia.

I was lucky because I get to buy this figure because Amazon does not ship this statue to my address anymore. The same thing happened to my other order of Darkhawk. Fuh… luckily I manage to pre-order them earlier.

Amazon BIGTHANKS

I have to admit that when Amazon offering $8.36 off of (almost) any orders over $50 with BIGTHANKS coupon only for one day (22 February) very tempting and I took the opportunity to pre-order another Joker Bandai action figure. My previous order of the Joker finders keyper lost in transit, and I decided not to accept a replacement for that.

Earlier I did pre-order Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Legends Series Darkhawk figure even though I’m not familiar with the characters, but I like the character design especially the awesome wings. I can’t wait to watch Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 in May.

I wonder how much avid collector spend cash on their collection. As for me, I buy at least one figure for each month. I just collect whatever things that attract my attention.

xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017)

Last night I watched xXx: Return of Xander Cage and I noticed that the ticket price increase RM1.OO. Luckily I did enjoy watch that movie. The reason I watch that movie because of Ruby Rose and Deepika Padukone.

Nowadays like most everything in Malaysia keeps growing!!! Hm… I wonder when things will be back to NORMAL?

 

Happy New Year 2017

Today is the last day of 2016 and tomorrow is the beginning of the year 2017. My wish to all my followers and readers a happy new year and may your new resolutions come true.

I do have a good news for myself to celebrate. I usually celebrate good achievements by treating myself and my family. Harley Quinn statue was one of the treats for myself and I’m so happy to receive that Harley’s statue. Can’t wait for others to come.
